Computer and Internet Policy

Bowling Green Public Library provides public computer and internet access to support education, communication, research, and personal use.

Computer Access

  • Public computers are available during regular library hours on a first-come, first-served basis.
  • Patrons may be asked to sign in before using a library computer.
  • Computer sessions are generally limited to two hours when others are waiting.

Wi-Fi Access

  • Free Wi-Fi is available for all library visitors during open hours.

Printing & Copying

  • Printing and copying services are available for a fee.
  • Black & White: $0.25 per page
  • Color: $1.00 per page

Acceptable Use

Computer and internet access must be used responsibly and lawfully. The following are prohibited.

  • Illegal activity.
  • Attempting to damage or alter library equipment.
  • Downloading unauthorized software.
  • Accessing obscene or unlawful content.
  • Harassing or disturbing other patrons.
  • Violation of these rules may result in suspension of computer privileges.

Internet Content & Privacy

  • The internet contains a wide range of information, and not all sources are accurate, current, or appropriate for all users.
  • Bowling Green Public Library does not monitor or control all information available online and cannot guarantee the accuracy or content of internet resources.
  • Library computers and internet access should not be considered completely private or secure.

Minors & Internet Use

  • Parents and guardians are responsible for supervising and guiding their child’s internet use.
  • The library supports families in making internet decisions that reflect their own values and needs.
